Wrinkles, Fine Lines

Collagen, which makes up to 75% of the skin works in tandem with elastin to keep the skin firm yet elastic, sort of like a connectivity tissue. Fine lines & wrinkles start to appear when collagen and elastin starts to breakdown from free radical damage and a variety of other intrinsic and extrinsic factors. As these supporting fibers start to diminish, so too does the firmness and elasticity of the skin. The skin loses its ability to retain its 'spring', and coupled with gravity causes the skin to sag downwards. Damage caused by bad sleeping posture or expression lines further degrade the appearance of the skin, deepening lines and accelerating premature aging.

Wrinkles types include:
Crinkle Lines: These series of fine lines run parallel to each other, and usually happens due to a weakened underlying structure.
Permanent Elastic Creases: Lines that deepened over time due to the loss of collagen, sun exposure and aging skin.
Dynamic Expression Lines: Lines caused by the movement of facial muscles. These lines can be found along the lips, eyes and brows.
Gravitational Folds: Well defined spots found anywhere in the body caused by sun exposure. These spots can have different colors, sizes and shapes.
